Walker’s Holiday Shortbread Dirt
This shortbread pudding recipe from @beyondfrosting is perfect for anyone looking for a simple, stress-free holiday dessert that you can prepare ahead of time. Using Walker’s all-butter Festive Shapes, she created an elegant yet simple dessert.
Ingredients
2 packages (175g/6oz) Walker’s Shortbread Festive Shapes
1 package (3.4oz) instant white chocolate or vanilla pudding
1 ½ cups eggnog or milk, cold
¾ cup heavy whipping cream, cold
¼ cup powdered sugar
Colored melting wafer or candy melts
Sprinkles
Method
Dice one package of Walker’s Shortbread Festive Shapes into small pieces, about the size of a dime.
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the pudding mix and eggnog and whisk until the powder has dissolved. Refrigerate until the pudding has set, about 10 minutes or so.
Prepare a batch of whipped cream. Beat the heavy whipping cream using an electric mixer at medium-high speed until soft peaks form. Slowly add the powdered sugar and continue beating at high speed until stiff peaks form.
Once the pudding has set, stir in the prepared whipped cream until combined, then fold in the crushed shortbread cookies. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2-24 hours before serving.
Decorate the second package of Walker’s Shortbread Festive Shapes using candy melts or melting wafers, drizzle or dip with chocolate and garnish with sprinkles.
To assemble, layer the prepared pudding in a parfait cup or 8x8 baking dish and garnish with decorated Walker’s Shortbread cookies or seasonal candy.
