A Recap Of The Royal Wedding

On May 19th at 12pm British Summer Time, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married. On our side of the pond, we had to wake up pretty early to see it but it was totally worth it!

In case you missed it, here are the biggest moments:

Meghan blew us away with a stunningly simple but elegant Givenchy dress. Her off-the-shower, mid-length sleeves and trailing train was regal and sophisticated but uniquely her. Her dress may have been understated but her veil, long and flowing with hand-sewn details, was iconic and breathtaking.

A few days before the wedding, Meghan’s dad had a heart attack. Thankfully, he was fine, but he still wouldn’t be able to travel, which left Meghan escort-less for her walk down the aisle. She walked part way down by herself in a historic and touching move, then was joined by Prince Charles who escorted her the rest of the way to the altar.

When the bride and groom reunited after their last night apart, Prince Harry leaned in and whispered “You look amazing.” Be still our hearts! He followed up the swoon-worthy gesture by holding her hand the entire ceremony in a tradition-breaking move.

As the bride and groom from two different worlds came together, an Episcopal Priest from America, Bishop Michael Curry spoke. He spoke directly to the couple, preaching about love, trust and hope. He also talked to the royalty and celebrities in the audiences, encouraging them to join in him in fighting to end poverty.

After saying their “I DO”s and sharing their first kiss, they hurried outside of the chapel where they shared a kissed for the public, another one in their carriage and again just because. They could not keep their hands off each other and we were totally there for it!
